Truro City complete double signing ahead of Torquay clash Truro City have strengthened their squad with the signings of striker Jack Stretton and centre-back George Cooper. The Tinners aim to climb out of the National League relegation zone with these additions. Stretton, 24, joins permanently after leaving League of Ireland side Drogheda United. The former Scotland youth international spent time at Derby County, Stockport County, Burton Albion and Morecambe. Cooper, 23, arrives on loan from Mansfield Town until the end of the season. ## Who are the new signings? Stretton brings Championship experience, having played 13 times for Derby County. He also featured in the FA and EFL Cups during his time at the Rams. Cooper, meanwhile, has had loan spells at Kettering, Kidderminster Harriers and Drogheda United, where he played alongside Stretton last year. ## What do the players bring to Truro? Cooper told BBC Radio Cornwall: "There's a really nice atmosphere here. Training has been tough but good. We're ready to attack the new year." The defender loves playing on the front foot and is eager to face the challenges of the National League. Stretton said: "I like to be direct, whether as a striker or winger. I give everything on the pitch and aim to score plenty of goals." His style of getting in behind defences could prove vital for Truro's survival hopes. ## What's next for Truro City?
