Aidan Stone has signed a new contract with Truro City that runs until the summer of 2029. The deal secures the long-term future of the 27-year-old goalkeeper, who has established himself as the club's first choice.
Stone has been an ever-present for Truro this season, a campaign in which the team sits fourth in the National League South with 21 points from 11 games. He told the club's website that regular football and the club's future plans were central to his decision. "Truro is a good place to be around at the moment because you can see what the club wants to do in the future," Stone said.
The goalkeeper, who previously played for Mansfield Town, Notts County and Port Vale, joined Truro ahead of the 2024/25 season. He acknowledged there was interest from other clubs during the summer but chose to stay. "There was some interest in the summer from various clubs, but Truro have demonstrated their faith in me by offering me a new deal," he added.
Stone's consistent performances have been a key part of a strong defensive record, with the team conceding just eight league goals so far. The side is currently on a run of four wins and a draw from their last five matches, including a 3-0 victory over Birmingham City U21 last time out.
With his future now settled, Stone is expected to continue in goal when Truro City travel to face Hampton & Richmond on 24 October.
