Tom Dean has left Exeter City to rejoin Truro City on a loan deal lasting until January 2027. The 20-year-old midfielder, younger brother of Truro stalwart Will Dean, returns to the National League South side after a successful seven-appearance stint last season.
Dean’s loan move to Truro City runs until January 2027, giving him extended time to develop in men’s football. This follows a similar temporary arrangement last season, during which he played seven times for John Askey’s side in the National League. The loan was confirmed by Exeter City on Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters, Dean said: "I'm really excited to get started." He added that he knows most of the players already and was keen to return when talks resurfaced.
Dean aims to gain more regular minutes in competitive football after limited appearances for both Exeter City and Truro City last season. He wants to cement a place in the team by playing at a good standard and contributing consistently. The move allows him to gain experience in the National League South while remaining attached to Exeter City.
Dean is expected to be available for selection ahead of Truro City’s upcoming fixture against Welling United on Saturday, 5 September 2026. His return adds depth to the midfield options under John Askey.
