Truro City manager John Askey has praised his team's commitment despite the imminent threat of relegation. The team faces Yeovil Town at Huish Park, knowing a loss and a win or draw for Eastleigh at Woking would send them down.
What's at stake?
Truro City is 12 points adrift of safety with five games left, having won just seven of their 41 games.
Recent form
The team is on a three-game unbeaten run, with wins at Sutton United and draws with Solihull Moors and Boreham Wood.
Askey told BBC Radio Cornwall, 'It's not something I've thought about, one or two of the players might.' He added, 'We've just got to go there and give it everything.'
Travel challenges
Truro's first season in the National League has seen the club travel further than any other side in English league football history.
| Category | Stat |
|---|---|
| League standing | 24th in England National League, 34 pts, 8W-10D-28L from 46 games |
| Goals this season | 42 scored, 72 conceded (-30 goal difference) |
| Title race | 74 points behind leaders York |
| Last result | Aldershot Town 0-2 Truro City (2026-04-25) |
| Recent form | 2W-0D-3L (WWLLL, most recent first); on a 2-game winning run |
The club has averaged more than 2,100 fans for every home game this season, putting them mid-table in terms of attendance. Askey hopes his side can continue to evolve on next season.
Building for the future
Askey said, 'Since the team has gone back to Truro, people appreciate that they've got a football club, and it's the best team that Truro have ever had.' He added, 'We're not happy with the position that we're in, but we're hoping that we can build on what's been achieved to far.',
The team's current league standing is 24th in the England National League, with 34 points from 46 games, and a recent form of WLLDL. Their last result was a 2-0 win against Aldershot Town on 2026-04-25.
