Truro City have revealed ambitious plans for a major new development around their stadium. The Milestone Project aims to create a well-connected destination for sport, health, employment, and community activity at Langarth.
Chief executive officer Robin Karkeek said the project reflects the club's ambition. "Truro City is on a journey of continual improvement in everything we do," Karkeek told the Falmouth Packet. "We have reached a real ‘Milestone’ opportunity for development in and around the Truro City Stadium site, that will underpin the needs of the club for future generations."
Project details
The plans include a new clubhouse and an expansion of the stadium's capacity. A 3G pitch, a mix of accommodation, community facilities, and commercial and retail space are also part of the proposal. Health and employment services will be integrated into the site, which is adjacent to Cornwall Council’s 1,250-space park-and-ride facility. The development is being worked on with partners LGV Property Holdings LLP, Cornwall Council, and Treveth Holdings.
The club said the project has the potential to establish a durable, long-term income stream for Truro City and its charity arm, the Truro City Community Trust. It aims to deliver lasting economic and social value for Truro and the wider Langarth community. The site offers direct access to transport links, enhancing its role as a community hub.
On-field context
These stadium plans are being revealed while the team enjoys a strong start to the National League - South season. Truro City currently sit 5th in the table with 14 points from 7 games, having won four, drawn two and lost one. Their recent form shows three wins, one draw and one defeat from the last five matches.
The club moved into the Truro Sports Hub at Langarth in 2024, playing their first home match in Cornwall in nearly four years. The latest plans represent the next phase of establishing a permanent home. The project's announcement provides a significant backdrop to the club's ongoing efforts to build a sustainable future both on and off the pitch.
