Truro City Football Club has announced ambitious plans for a major expansion of its stadium and surrounding grounds. The Milestone Project will increase capacity at Truro Community Stadium and add a new clubhouse, a 3G pitch, new homes, a community centre, retail shops, and food and drink outlets.
Chief executive Robin Karkeek confirmed the plans on Thursday, 10 September. The club is working with developer LGV Property Holding, Cornwall Council, and Treveth Holdings on the proposals, which aim to generate a durable, long-term income stream for the club and its charity, Truro City Community Trust.
"Truro City is on a journey of continual improvement in everything we do," Karkeek said. He added, "We still have a long way to go, but with the continued support of fans, sponsors and stakeholders we will get there."
Stadium and community vision
The development will transform the site around the stadium, which currently includes a 1,250-space car park operated by Cornwall Council as a park-and-ride. The project promises to enhance the matchday experience and provide year-round community facilities. Truro City moved into the new stadium in 2024, a year before winning the National League South title with a 5-2 victory over St Albans City.
On-field momentum
This off-field ambition aligns with a strong start to the current National League South campaign. Truro City sit fifth in the table with 14 points from seven games, having scored 11 goals and conceded just three. Their recent form shows three wins, one draw, and one defeat from the last five matches, a run that includes a 4-1 victory over Leicester City U21 and a 3-1 win against Chesham United.
Fans can also track the team's progress in the standings as they aim to close the five-point gap to leaders Maidstone United. The club's current squad depth is detailed on our squad page.
Karkeek's announcement positions the stadium expansion as the next logical step for a club building on its recent title success and solid league position. The plans are now subject to the formal planning process with local authorities.
