Truro City salvaged a point in what manager John Askey labelled their worst performance of the season. A 1-1 draw with Walton & Hersham leaves the club seventh in the National League South on 14 points after eight games.

Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain's own goal in the 81st minute secured the draw after the hosts had taken the lead. The match turned chaotic late on when Truro striker Omar Bogle was sent off for violent conduct before the equaliser.

"It's very frustrating," Askey said. "We talked before the game about doing things right and it was probably our worst performance - we had a lot of the ball, but didn't make enough of it."

The result extends a patchy run of form for Truro, whose last five results read two wins, one draw and two defeats. They face a significant test next, travelling to league leaders Maidstone United on 26 September.

Truro City suffered their first home defeat of the season, losing 1-0 to Salisbury on September 15. Manager John Askey said his side deserved all three points despite the result. "We've done everything but put the ball in the back of the net," Askey said. Josh Hedges scored the only goal for Salisbury in the eighth minute. The defeat leaves Truro seventh in the National League South, five points behind leaders Maidstone United.
