Truro City were held to a 1-1 draw away at Merthyr Town on Saturday. The result extends their unbeaten run in the league to three matches.

Paul Wotton's side now sit seventh in the National League South standings with 14 points from their opening eight games. They are five points behind the leaders, Maidstone United, whom they face next.

The draw at Merthyr follows a 1-1 home result against Walton & Hersham and a narrow 1-0 defeat to Salisbury.

With 11 goals scored and only four conceded so far this season, Truro possess one of the division's strongest defensive records. Their next challenge is a significant one, travelling to face top-of-the-table Maidstone United on 26 September. The latest standings show the gap they will be looking to close.
