Jack Stretton scored twice in four minutes to secure a dramatic 2-1 away win for Truro City at Maidstone United on Saturday. The victory moves Truro City to seventh in the National League South, now just five points behind the league leaders.

Nana Boateng had given the hosts the lead from the penalty spot in the 41st minute. Aidan Stone saved Boateng's initial effort, but the forward converted the retake. Truro hit the woodwork through Harvey Greenslade before the break and saw several chances go close after it.

The equaliser arrived in the 76th minute. Connor Riley-Lowe delivered a cross from the right and Stretton finished from close range. Just four minutes later, a Will Dean shot was turned home via a glancing header from Stretton to complete the turnaround.

Maidstone pushed for a late leveller, with Stan Leech hitting the post from a corner. Zachary Bell then made a key goal-line clearance deep in stoppage time to preserve Truro's lead.

The result extends Truro City's winning run to two matches and provides a significant boost ahead of their next fixture away at Farnham Town on 6 October.
