Truro City have signed forward Zyan Blake on loan from Nottingham Forest until the start of January 2027. The 18-year-old arrives to bolster the attack for a side sitting sixth in the National League South with 17 points from nine games, having scored 13 goals and conceded 10.

Blake has progressed through the academy at the City Ground and trained regularly with Forest's senior squad. He was also named in their first-team squad for a UEFA Europa League tie against FC Porto last season, gaining valuable experience at a high level.

Manager's view

Manager John Askey highlighted the qualities the young forward brings to the squad. "Zyan has a lot of ability and can go past a player," Askey said. "He is quick, has a good shot on him, and has scored goals at youth and under-21 level."

The manager believes the move signals the club's growing reputation. Askey added that Forest's willingness to send a highly-rated prospect to Truro shows they trust the club's development pathway and treatment of players. Askey also pointed to the club's recent form, stating the team has won three of its last five matches, which he hopes Blake can help continue.

Immediate availability

Blake is eligible to feature in Truro City's Emirates FA Cup tie against Cirencester Town this Saturday if selected. During his loan spell, he will wear the number 11 shirt.

The signing comes as Truro build momentum, having won their last two league matches, including a 2-1 victory away at leaders Maidstone United last weekend. The club's next league fixture is a home match against Torquay United on October 26. The club's current standings position reflects a strong start to the campaign.

Zyan Blake is permitted to play in Truro City's Emirates FA Cup game against Cirencester Town on Saturday if selected.
